Ho far do parents go just to be cool when it comes to their kids, do u buy them alcohol, cigarettes?

I’m 30 my bf is 47 his youngest daughter is 17 and dating a 19 year old boy. She doesn’t go to college or have a job. She is in and out of the house. Spends a lot of time with her bf at his house. Sometimes she comes to her dads house( my bf) and she would bring her boy friend. They usually stay 3 days and leave whenever they want. Her dad bring them breakfast in bed. If she wants alcohol or cigarettes since she is underage her dad would buy her. Her dad really loves her and she tells her everyday how much she loves her. When I go over his place he used to ask me to get wine but I refuse cause I don’t even drink.
Do parents do this? He says he is doing because he knows he knows that she will only drink in the house under his supervision. When her friends come over again he is the one to go to the liquor store if they want some.
He told me this is common to caucasian families…is this true? Yes he is caucasian..but I don’t get it.

Good parents or ANY ethnic background with decent morals and half a brain absolutely do NOT do any such thing. To say that encouraging a teenage daughter to have sex (to the point of literally allowing what is technically statutory rape to occur in his home) is "common" is utterly absurd. The fact that he is also buying her alcohol could probably land him in jail if push came to shove. As soon as one of those friends lets it slip to a parent that an adult is supplying them alcohol, your bf will go to prison.
Don’t let him fool you. This is NOT the norm among American parents!
This is a man that doesn’t have the kahunas to be a PARENT. He wants to be a "friend" to his kids. Sadly, this sets a pathetic example, and may well screw up his teen for life, and her kids as well, when she follows his same sorry example with her own children. So sad.
