Does this sound like an average family?

Here is my story summary of Eve’s family so far
Father is the first born and his father(grandfather) lives with the family. They both a run bed & breakfast thing together.
Mother is a housewife
-two children, a son & a daughter
no pets
Mother is close to both her children but favors son.
Children are discipline physically for bad grades & bad behavior.
All members of her immediate family are average looking, except for the daughter (Eve), she is supposed to be really pretty.
She is not treated differently because it.
Anyway, does this family sound cliche?
What should I change about her family?
She started school early so she’s 13 year old freshmen
the only thing is that pretty girls DO get treated better…I should know, I am one…and there’s nothing wrong with that, it’s just how the world works

The average family is getting scarcer and scarcer these days. Eve’s family sounds like every kid I grew up with 54 years ago;-) I wouldn’t change a thing, few families are like that anymore.
