What should I eat and when to help me have energy for my morning run.?
Jan 21st, 2010 by admin
I tend to get low blood sugar and get really dizzy or get headaches when I run in the morning (and other times). I drink a little juice before I run first thing in the morning. I also try to eat something right before going to bed. Any advice on what to eat and when in order to have energy first thing in the morning? I don’t have time to digest a huge breakfast.
This is what works well for me.
I eat some high quality carbs before I go to bed (wholemeal bread or cereal with milk)
In the morning I have a low-fat yogurt (which is easy to digest and provides a reasonable energy source) as well as a banana. Then after the run I have my main breakfast which is usually a protein shake with some toast.
Hope this works for you.
Eat a breakfast bar.

Yeah, I agree with Santosh, eat a breakfast bar. It’s small and quick.

Okay just eat one boiled egg, it will store protein in your body, aslo eat a bannana they help to relieve cramps and have potassium, you could also have a bannana breakfast bar, or just some strawberrys, and fruit!

One egg, scrambled and some sautee or steamed veggies – I carry a small bit of chocolate on my long runs incase i get dizzy. I dont do juice, becuase it has too much acid and causes heart burn. Runniing with heart burn is painful!
